The purpose of this paper is to define the
existing infrastructure of day laborers in Los Angeles County. I will try to
emphasize the dual approach of the municipal government that on one hand opposes
illegal immigrants and informal economies, and on the other hand supports
non-profit organizations that help undocumented immigrants
